Christian Hildebrandt (born 1967), composer, choir conductor and musicologist. In 2000 appointed a two year grant from Danish Arts Council. He has specialized himself in composing, researching and teaching in the field of choral music.
Christian Hildebrandt’s choral compositions are often inspired by symbolism in a mix of renaissance techniques and late romantic expression. He has also composed instrumental music and computer music.
Christian Hildebrandt holds a master’s degree in Musicology. His university studies mainly has focused on analytical aspects in contemporary and renaissance music, featuring Guillaume Dufay, Josquin Desprez, G.P. da Palestrina, Orlando di Lasso, Vagn Holmboe, Asger Hamerik, Knud Jeppesen, Per Nørgård and Hans Abrahamsen.
Since 2010 associate professor at University of Copenhagen, teaching classical analysis, harmony and counterpoint.
